Our Work: Excavating Projects in Central Indiana

Our own photographs of our own jobs, taken while the ground was still open.

These are our own jobs, photographed on the day the work could still be seen: a directional bore beside a house, drain pipe and a line on gravel bedding before backfill, a culvert outlet, rip rap under a bridge, a field at finish grade, and our storm shelter installs.

Most of what we do is buried by the time it is working. A photograph of the bedding under a pipe shows more about how a line was put in than any sentence on this website, so this page grows as the trenches are open.

If we have done something at your property and you took a picture of it, we would gladly put it here with your name on it.

If We Have Worked for You

We would genuinely like to see your photographs of it. Send them to the office in Lebanon and tell us which town the job was in and roughly what year we did it, and if you are happy for it to go on here we will say so before it does.

What Our Customers Wrote

Verbatim from our Google profile. Their words, their names, the date each was left.

“Our home is in a lower, recessed area of the neighborhood and has a tennis court surrounded by forested landscape, wildlife and a creek running the perimeter of the property. While not in a flood zone, we do have challenges with heavy rain and creek overflow. We have used Matt’s services since we bought this home in 2013. He has provided services ranging from French drainage systems to Riprap with cement armoring for creek bank stabilization. In addition, he installed high-tech carbon fiber belts to the tennis court creek bulkhead (retaining wall) to support its structure. We are extremely pleased with Wharff Excavating LLC. Matt and his crew are ALWAYS quick, proficient and professional, providing the highest standard of quality grading, erosion and excavation workmanship you can find in the Indianapolis area. We highly recommend Wharff Excavating services.”

“Wharff Excavating did an amazing job installing rip rap for erosion control on my property. Their crew was very professional, efficient, and clearly experienced. They handled the excavation work with precision, prepared a solid base, and placed the rip rap exactly the way it should be for long-term stability. The results speak for themselves. The bank is reinforced, water flow is managed properly, and the entire area looks clean, sturdy, and professionally finished. Wharff Excavating takes pride in their work, and it shows in every detail. If you need erosion control, excavation, grading, or any type of dirt work done right the first time, I highly recommend Wharff Excavating!”

“Wharff Excavating did an excellent job fixing a downspout issue that had been causing serious flooding in my yard. Casey and his crew were quick to respond, professional, and clearly experienced. They found the problem right away, rerouted the drainage properly, and made sure everything was working before they left. Since the work was done, I haven’t had a single issue, even after heavy rain. I’m really grateful for their help and recommend them to anyone dealing with drainage problems!”

“They just completed a storm shelter installation in our garage. The office staff was very responsive. The owner was really accommodating so my husband could see the actual unit before it was installed. They arrived on time with a large crew that worked the entire time they were here. They cleaned up any mess as they were working and put everything back in the garage how it was before. The most polite construction crew we have ever worked with. Would highly recommend.”
